Our actions

Designing the future for the participation of nature in peace dialogues.

In brief:

This peace artifact imagines a new form of Artificial Intelligence (AI) called “Natural Intelligence” (NI) that, inspired by ancestral indigenous wisdom, aims to give nature a voice in peace processes. It proposes a network of micro-sensors, measurement drones, and other devices to monitor the environment and humanity in real time to advance political decision-making processes.

Natural Intelligence - The voice of nature

It is 2045. Colombia, a country known for its rich natural diversity, has spent the past years implementing an ambitious plan to mitigate the effects of climate change, extractivism, corporatism, and most importantly, its long history of violence.

Fed up with the government being unable to solve the country’s most pressing problems, scientists, citizens, indigenous communities, and other minorities took action. They developed a revolutionary technology to give nature a political voice. They call it Natural Intelligence (NI), a planet-centric algorithmic solution designed to elevate nature to the category of a transcendental agent in the constitution. Its operating principles are inspired by nature-conservation indigenous teachings.

NI uses a virtually infinite network of micro-sensors scattered through ecosystems to collect data in real-time and analyze them. This network creates a cloud-based intelligence that can represent the interests of nature.

With this technology, Colombians have been able to change the political decision-making process. NI not only allows individuals to talk to nature and gain awareness and consideration for the environment in which they live. It also enables nature to get a seat at the country’s decision-making table and directly participate, through voting, in the political process. The experiment has meant an intellectual revolution like no other in recent history.

This innovation has resulted in a stronger societal relationship with ecosystems. People seek alternatives to the industry 5.0 way of life. Society en masse does not accept the destruction of nature.

NI makes it possible to manage ecosystems in a smart way to prevent conflicts and solve resource-related conflicts. These new possibilities have had an impact on critical issues like land disputes and water scarcity problems.

Not everyone is satisfied with this solution. Some politicians believe that the country should rely on corporations. Followers of Neo-Luddism think that there is too much technology. Conflict, thus, has taken a new form—a less violent one, but conflict nonetheless.

The country is still a long way from a sustainable peace, and there are still many issues that need action, but there are positive signals that things are improving. Thanks to NI’s technology, citizens can monitor their inner world through empathy devices, enabling them to grasp a better understanding of their emotions, those of others, and relate them to nature. As a result, people are more aware of the country’s politics.

The world takes notice of this techno-politico-spiritual experiment. Many are skeptical of Colombia’s future, but there are reasons to be optimistic. The UN and NI’s commitment has resulted in the attainment of positive results. Many believe that, through increased cooperation, more can be achieved.

Only time will tell whether giving nature a voice and helping citizens strengthen their connection with nature is the next step in Colombia’s political evolution. If it is the right one, hopefully the world will follow.
