The concept of systems thinking is introduced throughout its sections, exploring how systems, their complexity, and the interrelationship between their components influence the formulation and solution of public problems. It highlights the importance of understanding systems not only as closed entities but also as open and constantly evolving ecosystems, which requires an adaptive and flexible approach to change and management of these systems.

In addition, the guide delves into how we perceive and relate to these systems, urging a critical revision of values and beliefs to adopt more inclusive and diversified perspectives. Promoting a shift to a more holistic, critical, and pluriversal view encourages a shift from mere problem-solving to problem dilution through experimentation, continuous learning, and innovation.

The guide culminates by offering a set of practical tools for implementing these ideas, promoting more conscious and effective change management that not only addresses current challenges but also paves the way for future systemic transformations.

The Toolkit for the socioeconomic integration of migrants and returnees from Venezuela is a publication designed to comprehensively address the challenge of socioeconomic integration of this population in Colombia with an action-oriented approach. It invites teams and individuals to create specific strategies and initiatives through participatory methodologies.

In each chapter of this publication, you will find practical tools that will allow you to effectively address the challenges of socio-economic integration of the migrant and returnee population from Venezuela, promoting an inclusive and equitable approach in private, public, and financial sector organizations.

Colombia confronted massive droughts thanks to international cooperation and Web3 technologies. This last was crucial to help coordinate the population and solve the issue through decentralized cooperatives. The result was new forms of governance recognized by the government as key agents to fight climate change and protect the territory. New forms of decentralized science and protecting nature emerged, as well as essential changes in how rural communities organized themselves. Now, thanks to this new model, international cooperation revolves transparently around the causes being supported. However, other challenges exist, like new forms of territorial violence.

We found different views and perspectives towards Bitcoin in El Salvador. From the guerrilla conversations, the workshops, and the interviews that involved three different macro-contexts, we realized the barriers and drivers towards an organic and social adoption of projects of this type.

In El Salvador, there have been two parallel processes regarding the adoption of bitcoin:

Case El Zonte – Bottom-Up Solution: a beach community that adopted Bitcoin thanks to the involvement and contribution of external donors and their knit relationship with the community.

Case Suchitoto – Top Down Solution: for legalizing Bitcoin as a national currency and a large-scale implementation – for this case, we visited Suchitoto, a small town in the mountains.

The contrast of these two strategies gives us a unique perspective for understanding the critical factors of adoption for Bitcoin and other Web3 projects. We could see significant differences in how people think and relate to the currency depending on how it has been introduced, with significant adoption and a more positive perception of Bitcoin in El Zonte than in other regions.
